A Swap is a language meeting you have with another Swapper from Swap Language.
A German who lives in Paris and wants to learn French meets with a native French speaker who wants to learn German. That's a Swap.
When you have found a Swapper you want to have a Swap meeting with, you click the button “Request Swap”.
After sending the requested Swap, you must wait until your Swapper responds.
A Swapper is a person who has a profile on Swap Language. Everyone on Swap Language are Swappers.
We believe in learning with native speakers in person.

Your profile on Swap Language is a great way for other Swappers to learn more about you before they request you for a Swap.
When your profile is completely filled out, it will help others see and feel that you are a genuine person with a passion for learning a new language, and that you live the Swap Language vision.
The more complete your profile is, the more Swaps you are likely to have.

Missions are local activities with a specific topic/focus that you can do with another Swapper.
They are unique, because every Community has their own missions that are created for their city.
Check out your Community to see if there are any Mission available:

Who can make Missions?
Missions are created by the Ambassadors in your Community.
Group Swaps are big Swap Language meetings where you can meet other Swappers with your language preference. All nationalities and languages are welcome at these meetings.
A Group Swap can also be focused just on two languages. An example of a Group Swap with two languages could be English Swappers and French Swappers.
Group Swaps are created by the Ambassadors in your Community.
A Lead Ambassador manages a Community page and helps Ambassadors keep the Community page active.
Together, they make sure the Swappers can go on Missions, join Group Swaps, and that the Community in general is thriving.
The Lead Ambassador is also responsible for finding Ambassadors for the Community.
A Lead Ambassador manages the local Community and is responsible for making a thriving and active Community.
You can apply to become a Lead Ambassador through this Lead Form.
A Community has one Lead Ambassador and many Ambassadors.
If there is already a Community with a Lead Ambassador in your city, you can contact the Lead Ambassador to become an Ambassador on your Community page.

An Ambassador can create and host Group Swaps and help Swappers find other Swappers in their nearby area.
They can also create and suggest new Missions for the Community.
There can be one Community page per city.

If there is no Community in your city or nearby area, you can apply to become a Lead Ambassador.
As a Lead Ambassador you can create a Community.
If the Swapper you want to meet with cancels, we will let you know and automatically re-open the scheduled time in your calendar.
You can swap language with a native speaker in many ways.
In order to contact a Swapper on Swap Language, we require all profiles to have a profile photo. You can add a photo under the “Edit profile” section.
The profile photo should show your face. This will help others to know who they are meeting with.
You can cancel and reschedule a Swap request in two ways.
As a Swapper, you decide exactly what should be the topic of the meeting and what you want to practice.
If you are not sure what to do, you can ask what your Swapper would like to focus on. You can also ask an ambassador for topics/ideas to talk about during your meeting. You can also go on a Mission – they are available on your community page.
Swap Language is for everyone to use. That's why our opinions and suggestions are important to us!
We will do our best to get back to you, but one thing is certain. We will use the feedback to make Swap Language even better!
